Description
Precast concrete is created using specialized molds designed for the purpose. Manufacturers create these molds in many different shapes and sizes because they can be reused. There are options for builders to order precast concrete structures with complex decorative elements.
Precast concrete frames are typically used for single-storey and low-rise structures. The concrete members are transported to site where a crane then lifts and places them into position to construct the frame: For more information, see Precast connections.
Precast concrete is poured into a reusable mould or 'form', cured in a controlled environment, then lifted into place. Precast concrete can be poured on site and then lifted, or poured off site and transported to site before lifting. Precast concrete can be used for floors, walls, or roofs of any building.
